I hate, hate, hate it when people tap on my desk as they walk by. That's right intern... I'm talking to you!
Tomorrow morning the Carter household will finally be joining the hooked up masses. We will have internet! At Home! ... provided that the Charter Communications guy holds up his end of the deal. Yeah, we're a decade late on the home internet front, but it's tough living below the poverty line. Sacrifices have to be made. Fancy new kicks ...or the internet? Starting tomorrow Chris and Marissa start saying yes to the internet!

I want to be a housewife when I grow up. I think I would be marvelous at sitting around all morning with a cup of coffee playing around online. I might paint a little and I might make stuff.
At 3 pm I would go shopping for groceries and have dinner cooking by the time Chris gets home (because in this make believe world he would have an actual adult "9 to 5" job). The food I prepared would always be fabulous and new. I would subscribe to Martha Stewart Living and actually do what she says (instead of just reading her magazine for amusement). I would vacuum in pearls and make cookies for the neighbors. It sounds great right now, but might get boring after a while... so what I'm really looking for is a part -time housewife position... and one that pays really well.

Speaking of housewives... on our first day back from the honeymoon we both had to work. We have this wonderful schedule where I work days and he works nights so time spent together happens between the hours of 11 pm and 2 am.
Anyway, when Chris got home that first night, I met him by the door with his slippers (the fancy new ones "stolen" from our honeymoon suite), the mail, and a can of coke. I even kneeled on the ground to take his shoes off and apply the slippers... wearing one of my favorite vintage aprons. I even "freshened up" before he got home... sadly though I don't own any pearls or those suckas totally would've been around my neck. We laughed and laughed.
We laughed even harder when he met me at the door the next day with the same schpeal, a kiss on the cheek, and a "hello wife, how was work?" Who says marriage isn't fun!?
