Snippet of last night's IM fun with Riss and Dave:


dave: � did you see the State of the Union?
riss: � � heh...no...I was babysitting my sister and she holds full veto power
dave: � ah too bad... good speech...well delivered
riss: � � that's what I heard.
dave: � but it was good... the domestic part of it contained some typical stuff, no dividend tax, no marriage penalty, fix medicare... but it had some new stuff too
riss: � � ah... new stuff like "Saddam bad! Hulk smash!!!"

Gah. It's midnight. My eyes are sore and the screen is blurry. I give up.


My brother walked out of his bedroom thirty minutes ago with a pillow covering his bum and another at his crotch, appearing very much naked. With a wink, he turned around, bent over, and removed the back pillow. Luckily for me, he was wearing boxers. With a cackle of glee he ran back to his room and slammed the door. No more large doses of caffeine after 10 for that one.

Wasting time waiting to see if Dave show's up online tonight so I thought this was as good a time as any to update this thing.
School starts again on monday...time to enroll for classes I guess. Good thing they give you a couple of months before you really have to... but I know for a fact that the financial aide office will not be pleased that I still have 4,000 dollars on my bill. And then of course there's the matter of the 50 dollar RV that I'll more than likely receive upon my return for not returning my dorm key at the end of last semester. way to go me.

On the left you will see a new link to Amanda's blog, Controlled Chaos... Manders (as, I hear, she is most commonly reffered) is one of the students at Dave's former place of employment. I met her once too...among a whole lot of her relatives...during the Thanksgiving 2001 Meet the Parents tour. Cool chick indeed.

Nick Hornby's Songbook was released nearly a month ago. Sadly, it is still not in my possesion...but someday I tell you! Someday it shall be mine! Probably not untill I get back to Shawnee and put some money into my checking about though. Stupid debit card. This week, in honor of Songbook, McSweeney's is publishing a new essay per day on the subject of favorite songs...including one by a little known author by the name of Nick Hornby...hm. Oddly appropriate for the times at hand...as it seems everything has been lately.

If the past week and a half are any indication, 2003 won't be pretty. Hope that this post finds you much better off than me. Updates scheduled for after my grandparents' 50th anniversary shindig (how about some salt for that gaping wound) on the 13th.
